Professional Clinical Assessments in Five Simple Steps
At VitalAssess, we've made it easy for employers to access timely clinical support when an employee becomes unwell. Our streamlined process ensures employees receive professional, evidence-based advice while employers receive clear workplace recommendations to support informed decision-making.
📞 1. Make a Referral
When an employee becomes unwell, simply contact VitalAssess to arrange a telephone clinical assessment. We'll collect the necessary information and arrange a convenient appointment with the employee, on the same day where possible.
🩺 2. Comprehensive Clinical Assessment
An experienced HCPC Registered Paramedic will complete a structured telephone assessment, taking the time to understand the employee's symptoms, medical history (where appropriate), current concerns and how their condition is affecting them.
Every assessment is tailored to the individual, ensuring safe and evidence-based clinical decision-making.
🧭 3. Clinical Advice & Signposting
Following the assessment, the employee receives clear clinical advice based on their individual needs.
Where appropriate, they may be advised to:
• Continue working safely.
• Work with temporary adjustments.
• Self-care at home.
• Contact their GP.
• Visit a Community Pharmacy.
• Contact NHS 111.
• Attend an Urgent Treatment Centre.
• Attend the Emergency Department or call 999 if emergency care is required.
📄 4. Workplace Recommendations
With the employee's informed consent, VitalAssess provides the employer with a concise workplace report outlining:
✔ Fitness for work.
✔ Recommended workplace adjustments.
✔ Whether further medical assessment has been advised.
✔ Any recommended follow-up.
We only share information that is necessary to support workplace decisions while respecting employee confidentiality.

Where clinically appropriate, follow-up assessments can be arranged to review the employee's progress and provide updated recommendations.
